"Terry Burns" Terry Burns

Terry originally qualified as an Electronics Engineer, but has been involved in Software Engineering in the IT industry for the last fifteen years.

Cutting his teeth on embedded machine code for instrumentation and engineering projects, he moved from assembler onto C/C++ in the early years and then went on to specialise on developing large scale Lotus Domino Web applications for blue chips. Terry moved over to .NET developer products in 2002 with the first commercial release, and has been heavily involved ever since.

Having been involved more recently in the Microsoft® WeRock educational and promotional initiative where he designed many of the labs, Terry has received an award from Microsoft® for his outstanding contribution to the project. He will be teaching the VB.NET/ASP.NET curriculum.

"Tony Whitter" Tony Whitter

We are especially delighted to announce Tony Whitter as an exceptional software consultant/developer and leading trainer.

Tony has worked as a software developer, consultant and trainer for nearly 30 years, providing solutions and advice to a wide variety of organisations and industries. He first started programming in 1975 on mini-computers, moved to mainframes in 1980, and on to PCs in 1984. After founding a technology company in the early 1980’s, his extensive experience includes four years as the Head of Technology for a quoted multinational software corporation.

He has been using .NET™ since the PDC Technical Preview release in 2000, and has since developed a number of enterprise level systems using Visual Studio .NET™, the first of which shipped in 2001 under the terms of the Go Live Licence for Beta 2. He continues to use Visual Studio .NET™ extensively on a daily basis and consequently has a wealth of relevant knowledge and experience to draw on. More recently, Tony has authored a popular series of .NET™ training courses, trained numerous developers in .NET™ technologies, spoken at major international .NET™ conferences and is currently working closely with Microsoft® on Visual Studio 2005.

"Adrian Jakeman" Adrian Jakeman

TrainingOn.net is very pleased to introduce Adrian Jakeman as one of it's foremost trainers.

Adrian originally trained as a geologist at Nottingham University but became involved in the IT industry over twenty years ago in the manufacturing sector with a multinational packaging Company. He first worked in FORTRAN and assembly language but moved into the arena of Visual Basic in its early forms. In the 90s, Adrian was heavily involved in IT in the education sector and is qualified as MA in Education Management and is also a Member of the Institute of IT Training.

He was a member of the Microsoft AATP trial scheme in the mid 90s which linked technical training with educational establishments and presented outcomes of this trial at Microsoft in Reading. For the last five years he has been involved as a technical trainer and consultant, primarily in areas of web development. With the advent of .NET, he has been heavily involved in world-wide training for a number of UK and global organisations. Adrian is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, Microsoft Certified Application Developer and Microsoft Certified Trainer.

"Steve Harris" Steve Harris

Steve Harris has been in the IT industry as a consultant, author and trainer for the majority of his working career. During this time Steve has been an author of several IT text books including "Moving to ASP.NET" which he co-authored in 2002 (published by Apress).

Steve is heavily focused on ASP.NET application development using Microsoft Visual Studio and has architected, developed and delivered several enterprise scale solutions to a range of customers, which include police forces and Formula 1 race teams.

He is currently working on a number of cutting-edge .NET projects, and is widely recognised as one of the UK's foremost authorities on ASP.NET development. Steve often speaks at important IT conferences and seminars in the UK and abroad, he is also an MCT (Microsoft Certified Trainer) and MCSD. (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer).
